About ADA

The American Diabetes Association was founded in 1940, with the mission to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. People living with diabetes cannot produce or properly use insulin, a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life. Every 17 seconds, an American is diagnosed with diabetes, which kills more people in the United States each year than breast cancer and AIDS combined. The epidemic is growing, and current estimates project that as many as one in three Americans will have diabetes by 2050. The American Diabetes Association Central Texas is unwilling to accept this future. Join us in our commitment to Stop Diabetes.
